Sciatica is a condition caused by inflammation or irritation of the Sciatic nerve.  Symptom is often lower back pain extending through the buttocks, hip and down to the leg on same side, burning,  tingling and numbness.  Pain is often worsen by coughing and sneezing. Common causes are pregnancy, diabetes, age, herniated disks, and degenerative arthritis. Diagnosis is made by history taking, examination, imaging like MRI.  Treatment includes anti-inflammatory muscle relaxants, physical therapy and steroid injections.
